Benefits of massage

I could go on forever about the many different benefits of massage therapy. Most people see it as a pain relief treatment for muscle tension, or purely for relaxation.

However other benefits are often overlooked including: preventing injury, reprogramming muscle memory over time to improve posture and reduce musculoskeletal imbalances, relieving tension headaches, reducing symptoms of anxiety and stress, reducing discomfort from DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) as a result of vigorous exercise, improving flexibility by stretching and lengthening the muscle fibres, reducing specific symptoms e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome or sciatica, aiding tissue healing, reducing blood pressure, and improving the drainage of waste products (e.g. carbon dioxide and acetic acid).
